<p>The system has a lens holder (21) arranged at a base of a housing, and a LED unit (22) fitted at a side of the holder. A laser unit (23) is fixed at another side of the holder opposite to the LED unit. An image acquisition unit (24) is fixed at an upper end of the holder to receive the image. The LED unit and the laser unit emits light beam in the direction of a surface across which an optical mouse is moved forward and backward. An independent claim is also included for an optical mouse with an optical system having a laser unit.</p>
