Oxygen sensor comprises: (a) a solid electrolyte plate (11) consisting of ZrO2 powder of ave. particle dia. of less than 2 microns, the plate having a measuring electrode and reference electrode formed on two opposite surfaces of the plate; (b) a ventilation plate (16) of Al2O3 powder having ave. particle dia. of less than 1 micron, the ventilation plate being positioned on the side of the reference electrode of the electrolyte plate and being provided with ventilation channel to feed reference gas to the reference electrode; and (c) a heating base (22) arranged on the ventilation plate. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The sensor is used to measure the oxygen concn. present in I.C. engine exhaust gas.
