PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the accuracy of correcting a head temperature sensor and at the same time, control the temperature increase in a printing head to suppress a decrease in the throughput during high-duty printing by switching a system (table) relative to a head temperature and a drive pulse in accordance with the correction accuracy of the head temperature sensor. SOLUTION: When a power supply for a printer is turned ON, it is interpreted whether a printing head 1 is already mounted, and when the head 1 is mounted, the provisional offset value of a head temperature sensor 10 is decided on assumption that a head temperature is equal to an intradevice temperature. Next, it is checked whether a print command is output and when the print command is not output, it is interpreted whether the correction of the sensor 10 is completed. Before completion of the correction, the correction accuracy of the sensor 10 is interpreted and when the accuracy is above a specified level, a table 2 is selected. On the contrary, when the accuracy is not above the specified level, a table 1 is selected. Further, when the correction is finally completed, a table 3 is selected. After that, a drive signal waveform corresponding to the temperature of each of the heads is selected according to the selected table. |
