A circuit and a related method to measure efficiently a load current in an integrated circuit using a current mirror configuration has been achieved. The current mirror configuration comprises three branches, a biasing branch (1), a load branch (2), and a measurement branch (3). The biasing branch (1) comprises a current source (4) and two transistors (N1,N3), the load branch (2) comprises a load (5) and two transistors (N2,N4), and the measurement branch (3) comprises a means of measurement and two transistors (N5,N6). The biasing branch (1) is attached to the load branch (2) in a cascode mirror configuration and the measurement branch (3) is also attached to the load branch (2) in a cascode mirror configuration. The current in the measurement branch (3) is linearly correlated to the current in the load branch (2) and provides therefor an efficient way to measure the load current without any distortion of the load current. <IMAGE> |
