A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ACID GROUP CONTAINING POLYMER RESIN

A process for the production of an acid group containing polymer resin comprising the steps of:- (i) forming a pre-polymerisation composition comprising a monomer having at least one acid group in a side chain thereof and a solvent comprising at least one organic acid and; (ii) reacting the said composition to form an acid group containing polymer resin incorporating the said organic acid in the solvent thereof.
