The invention relates to electronic engineering and is usable for digital radio and video engineering. The inventive information compressing method consists in using compression function signals controlling the operation of a computing device which is used for carrying out a sequential simultaneous compression of a following information unit signal and of a compressed signal which corresponds to a preceding information unit with the aid of the compression function signals. The signal corresponding to the compressed signal for the last information unit contains complete information about all signals of the preceding information units whose signals are compressed. All compressed signals which correspond to the information units are unequivocally recovered with the aid of the recovery function signals controlling the operation of the computing device. Input data for the computing device is used in the form of an information unit compressed signal and signals which are obtained during the recovery process. Said invention makes it possible to reduce the volume or transmissible information and to obtain a stable cryptographic security of digital information.
