A personnel carrying vehicle. The vehicle has a self propelled, steerable body (70), a telescoping mast (30) and a personnel compartment (40) with a rail member (42). There are a pair of gate members (43, 44) pivotally attached to the rail member (42) and to the floor (41) of the comparment (40). The mast (30) extends at an angle of approximately five degrees. The vehicle (10) is driven by a pair of rear wheels (24). The operator (50) is provided with a steering control (70) and a traction control assembly (80). There are indicating or interlock switches (251 and 252) to indicate the gate position. The interlock switches (251, 252) are provided on both the gates (43, 44) to restrict or prevent travel under certain conditions. |
