The invention relates to a filter comprising a rotative connecting flange between its upper and lower sections, said flange having two kidney-shaped openings and a diametral strut running between the latter. The direction in which a gas traverses the filter element situated in the housing can be reversed by rotating the connecting flange. This enables the filter to be operated as a coalescence filter or a dust filter, simply by rotating said connecting flange.
