An illumination unit that comprises a controller, for determining whether to supply power for lighting a lamp in a normal or emergency mode, according to the presence of power from an electricity network and to the state of a switch, normally used to turn on/off the light provided by the lamp whenever there is no presence of power from the electricity network and the switch is turned on; and a charger, for charging the rechargeable element whenever there is a presence of power from the electricity network. The unit can be used for providing an emergency light. An illumination system comprising solar cells, a motion sensor and a rechargeable battery also foreseen. |
