The method involves determining linear traverse speed, on a matrix screen (E), of elementary patterns of a graphical symbol. Width of the elementary patterns is determined according to the determined speed, where the width is calculated by comparing successive frames. The thickness of the patterns increases with the speed in a linear manner, when the symbol is rotatably moved. An independent claim is also included for a graphical symbol display device comprising a matrix screen.
