An abdominal wall support implant for use in the surgical repair of hernias and eventrations implemented in a silicone elastomer

An internal wall support prosthesis made entirely of silicone elastomer. The implant is presented in a monobloc item produced by transformation of the silicone elastomer, principally by molding. It may be in plane form or in a three-dimensional form which can adapt geometrically to the area to be treated. It has an openwork structure to facilitate colonization by the body tissues. It may be fitted with disks of textile or other materials or grooves to facilitate it fixing by stapling or gluing. It is implemented in silicone elastomers of varying Shore A hardnesses giving it different properties of stiffness, elongation, residual deformation and resistance to rupture. It may be implemented wholly or partially in radio-opaque material to facilitate its location within the body by radiography.
