The exchanger has a collector including two parts (12, 14), each presenting sectional edges that includes teeth (24a, 24b, 26a, 26b) intended for delimiting open splits (28, 30). The edges are arranged, such that the teeth come in mutual contact with each other to be connected by brazing and splits delimit an opening for receiving an end of a tube (42) so as to allow introduction ends of the tube in the collector. An independent claim is also included for a process for assembling a heat exchanger.
