PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a classification code processor capable of carrying out effective classification processing for scientific and technological documents in which various words appear. SOLUTION: In the classification code processor which is accessibly connected with document database retaining a plurality of documents correlated to classification codes and supports giving of the classification codes to the target document to be processed, a string of characters being at least one key is extracted as a keyword from the target document to be processed. A group of documents related to respective extracted keywords is extracted from the document database. The group of extracted documents for respective keywords is referred to, a list of classification codes for every keyword is prepared by obtaining at least a part of classification codes correlated to the group of documents, and the list is prepared for processing supporting giving of classification codes to the target document to be processed.
