PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor improving workability by facilitating work for building a compression mechanism part positioned in a lower part into a hermetic case assuming on an assumption that an outer rotor type motor part is provided. SOLUTION: An electric compressor main body 5 constructed by connecting a compressor mechanism part 3 and a motor part 4 via an rotary shaft 2 is stored in a hermetic case 1. The motor part constructs a so-called outer rotor type motor part which consists of a stator 9 press-fitted and fixed on an outer diameter part of a main bearing 15 pivotally supporting the rotary shaft and an umbrella shape rotor 10 attached on the rotary shaft and extended with keeping a predetermined gap with an outer circumference surface of the stator. The hermetic case consists of an upper part case 1A having a lower end part whole surface opened and a lower part case 1B having a upper end part whole surface opened which are mutually formed in a bowl shape. The opening parts of the upper part case and the lower part case are fitted to form a seal structure. L1≥L2 relation is satisfied, where an axial length of the upper part case is defined as L1 and an axial length of the lower part case is defined as L2, and the compression mechanism part is attached and fixed on the lower part case.
