PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a driving force to a steel sheet pile almost along an operating line of a resultant force of penetration resistance in a direction opposite to the resulting force, by using improved steel sheet pile chucks to grip steel sheet piles of different shapes and different dimensions. SOLUTION: Two sets of chucks 8, 9 are arranged such that a securing claw 8a of the chuck 8 is hinged to a securing claw 9a of the chuck 9 by means of a coupling pin 10, and that an intersection angleϕbetween the two sets of the chucks is made adjustable.
