METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BENDING PLATE GLASS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of bending plate glass by which the plate glass is formed into a prescribed shape and the occurrence of perspective distortion is prevented and an apparatus for bending the plate glass. SOLUTION: A section 20 of a forming zone 12 in a tunnel-like heating oven 10 is provided with a heater group 15 comprising a plurality of heaters 23 for heating the plate glass 100 and a heat insulating plate 25 suspended from the upper side. The heat insulating plate 25 comprises heat insulating plates 25a-25f positioned above division lines dividing (dividing into three) the center part and the peripheral parts of the plate glass 100 in the up and down direction (B direction ) of the upper surface of the plate glass 100 and heat insulating plates 25g-25l positioned above division lines dividing (dividing into three) the center part and the peripheral parts of the plate glass 100 in the width direction (A direction) of the upper surface of the plate glass 100 which are arranged lattice like.
