A travelator, moving ramp or escalator, comprising a conveyor (1) and a protec­tive skirting (2) placed beside the con­veyor and forming a substantially narrow gap between the protective skirting and the conveyor to prevent objects from getting into said gap when the conveyor is moving. The protective skirting (2) is made from extruded metal profile.
