<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-component developing device with which a coating material of a carrier does not peel even after long-term use, whereby stable image quality can be obtained, and with which lowering of image density and image fogging due to faulty charge of a developer are prevented in low density original printing, whereby an image of high image quality can be ensured. <P>SOLUTION: The two-component developing device 3 for developing a latent image on a latent image bearing member 2 while applying a DC developing bias between the latent image bearing member 2 and a developing roller 7 has the developing roller 7, a doctor blade 9, a developer housing vessel 6 and a two-component developer 8 housed in the developer housing vessel 6, wherein the two-component developer 8 includes a carrier and toner, the carrier comprises a core material and a coating material layer, and the coating material layer is formed in such a way that its volume resistivity decreases from a part near the core material toward the outer surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
