<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a printer by means of a button operation on a digital camera when the digital camera as a USB storage-class device is directly connected to a USB host printer by means of a USB. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 20 periodically sends a request inquiry command "Interrupt In" to the camera 10 at a high-speed rate. The camera 10 returns to the printer 20 in reply to the "Interrupt In", such as "request for printer status" "print request" or "request for stop printing". All the other actions on request are carried out by the camera 10 as an ordinary storage-class USB device toward the printer 20.
