<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load driver by which the service life of a switching elemment for performing a switching operation can be elongated. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 30 receives convertor temperature Tcnv, invertor temperature Tinv and motor temeperature Tmot from temperature sensors 18 to 20 respectively. The controller 30 computes the element breakdown voltages Vcnv, Vinv of a step-up convertor 12 and an inverter 14 respectively based on the convertor temperature Tcnv and the invertor temperature Tinv, and also computes the counter electromotive voltage E of an AC motor M1 based on the motor temperature Tmot. The controller 30 uses a lower element breakdown voltages of Vcnv, Vinv as the element breakdown voltage V. When the element breakdown voltage V is lower than the counter electromotive voltage E, the controller 30 controls the step-up convertor 12, the invertor 14 and the AC motor M1 so that the convertore temperature Tcnv, the invertor temperature Tinv and the motor temperatur Tmot are increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
