<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter using a matrix converter for converting power between a plurality of DC power supplies and a polyphase AC device mutually. <P>SOLUTION: A power conversion unit 10 and a connector 20 for performing power conversion between a fuel cell FC of a DC power supply and a battery BAT and between a motor generator MG of an AC device are constituted of the matrix converter. In the case of a power flow pattern needing the raise of a voltage of the DC power supply, a switch SCd in the connector 20 electrically connects a power supply line LC to a power supply line Ld according to a control signal from a controller 30.
