PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting metals capable of effectively inspecting a metal mixed in a food product or the like, by responding to a plurality of frequency components, having different frequencies and by generating alternate magnetic fields which are simultaneously tuned at respective frequencies by using one transmitting coil, without changing over elements through a switch or the like. SOLUTION: In structure elements, making up a magnetic field generating means 2, a structure element couples a transmitting coil L1 with a capacitor C1 so as to resonate at a first frequency F1, and a structure element couples the transmitting coil L1 with a capacitor C2 so as to resonate at a second frequency F2, and furthermore, a structure element acts effectively for isolation so as to prevent the capacitor C1 from interfering with the capacitor C2, at least at the same frequency.
