ULTRASONIC FLOWMETER, AND WEDGE USED THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic flowmeter capable of measuring an accurate flow rate, by eliminating a measuring error caused by generation of a plurality of kinds of waves. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic flowmeter measures the flow rate of a measured fluid, while provided with a wedge for fixing an ultrasonic transducer onto an outer wall face of a fluid pipe concerned in the measured fluid. The ultrasonic transducer is made to adopt one oscillating only a transverse wave with respect to an advancing direction of an ultrasonic wave. The wedge is formed to fix the ultrasonic transducer so that the transverse wave oscillated by the ultrasonic transducer may be brought into an SH wave vibrated along a direction perpendicular to a two dimensions, when the measuring area of the measured fluid is expressed by the two dimensions.
