摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical object discrimination device having a small size and high reliability, capable of detecting accurately the irregularity state of the measuring object. SOLUTION: This optical object discrimination device is equipped with a floodlighting part comprising a collimator lens 2 for irradiating the measuring object 9 with laser light emitted from a semiconductor laser 1 as the first light flux 5, a diaphragm 3, a non-polarized beam splitter 4 and the first condensing lens 8; a light receiving part 12 for receiving a reflected light flux 7 reflected by the measuring object 9; a linear polarizer 13a arranged between the light receiving part 12 and the measuring object 9, for selecting a polarization direction which is the same direction as the polarization direction of the first light flux 5 and allowing the light flux to pass; and a signal processing circuit 12 for processing a signal outputted from the light receiving part 12, and measuring the light intensity in the polarization direction in the reflected light flux 7.
