PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for inspecting a bag opening, in which the yield rate of a plate-like article packed into a package is improved. SOLUTION: The package 500 has a tubular shape, and is packed with a plurality of stacked can lids 600, wherein a part near the bag opening is folded. A ring light 100 emits a white light from the direction of the opening to the bag opening of the package 500. A CCD (charge coupled device) camera 200 photographs the bag opening which is irradiated with the white light from the direction of the opening, and generates image data. A CPU 303 in a controller 300 judges whether an area corresponding to the closure part by the folding of the bag opening is closed or not, on the basis of the image data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
