PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image processor and color image processing method which can perform color conversion to color signals containing more than five color elements with low available memory. SOLUTION: Input color signals which consists of seven color component, YMCKRGB is input into region decision unit 1, at the same time, color components of YRK, RMK, MBK, BCK, CGK, and GYK are input into three-dimensional DLUT color conversion units 2-7, respectively. The region decision unit 1 decides by which combination group of YRK, RMK, MBK, BCK, CGK, and GYK the input color combination is included, and transmits region FLAG signals to an output signal switch unit 8. Six DLUT color conversion units 2-7 output L* a* b* color signals. The output signal switch unit 8 selects proper L* a* b* color signals in accordance with area FLAG signals to output as output signals. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
