PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device which surely brakes a disk in the case of forcibly ejecting an optical disk. SOLUTION: The disk device comprises a case body 1, a tray 3 provided on the case body 1 so as to be moved between a disk attaching/detaching position outside the case body 1 and a disk rotating position inside the case body 1, and a spindle motor 11 provided on the tray 3 for mounting and rotating the disk 16. A braking member 20 is provided on the tray 3 so as to be rotated linked with the movement of the tray 3, and when the tray 3 is positioned within a prescribed section between the disk attaching/detaching position and the disk rotating position, the contact part 20a of the braking member 20 is abutted on the spindle motor 11 and the spindle motor 11 is braked.
