PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper money conveying device provided with a take-in mechanism having a conveying roller turnably pivotally supported at the rear end of a swing member and an endless belt wound between a take-in roller and the conveying roller, always imparting elastic force to the conveying roller, doing away with a tension roller to miniaturize the take-in mechanism, and adjusting pressing force of the conveying roller according to a change of tension and abrasion of the conveyor belt to certainly convey paper money. SOLUTION: This paper money conveying device has: a bottomed box-shaped frame formed with a front opening and an upper opening; an elastic member fixed to a bottom part of the frame; a shaft member journaled between both side walls of the front end of the frame; the swing member swingably journaled to the shaft member; the take-in roller turnably journaled to the shaft member, and disposed inside the swing member; the conveying roller turnably journaled to the rear end of the swing member; and the endless belt wound between the take-in roller and the conveying roller. The take-in roller is made to face a sub conveying path, the conveying roller is brought into pressure-contact with the conveyor belt, and the take-in mechanism is disposed near a confluence part.
