PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance funds efficiency by inhibiting the generation of dead paper money. SOLUTION: In a payment transaction, for example, the paper money is drawn out from a denomination-specific cassette 4a stored the paper money on a denomination basis and is discriminated by means of a discrimination section 3. The paper money discriminated as a normal one is collected on a service section 1. The paper money discriminated as rejected ones is collected on a temporary reservation section 5 for reservation. After collecting the normal paper money by a payment portion on the service section 1, the paper money is drawn out from the temporary reservation section 5 and is returned to the denomination-specific cassette 4. Now, in the following payment transaction, the rejected paper money is drawn out from the denomination-specific cassette 4 for re-discrimination.
