PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogenation catalyst capable of attaining hydrogenation of hydrocarbon up to the extremely high depth of a sulfur content≤10 mass ppm and a nitrogen content≤3 mass ppm. SOLUTION: The hydrogenation catalyst of hydrocarbon oil is a catalyst made by depositing at least one kind of group 8 metals of the periodic table as active metal, at least one kind of group 6 metals of the periodic table and phosphorus on an inorganic porous carrier composed of oxide of at least aluminum, phosphorus and silicon. Therein, the chemical shift value of phosphorus in<SP>31</SP>P-CPMAS-NMR of the inorganic porous carrier has a peak in the range of 0 to -20 ppm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
