PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator of a rotating electric machine that has two concentrated winding coils in slots wound to the adjacent inner layer side of one slot and the outer layer side of the other slot, respectively, is easy in coil installation, high in coil occupation factor in the slot, and stable in output characteristic, and to provide a manufacturing method for the stator. SOLUTION: The coil concentratedly wound to teeth 13 is formed by winding a coil wire 22 into a rectangular shape so as to pile up the wire, and has coil segments 12 of the same shapes having rows of the facing coil wire 22 being insertion parts to the slots 14. One of the rows of the facing coil wire 22 is superimposed on the row of the coil wire 22 of the coil segment 12 that is adjacent to the one row so that the one row is located at the inner layer side of the slot 14, and the other row is aligned and superimposed on the row of the coil segment 12 that is adjacent to the other row so that the other row is located at the outer layer side of the slot 14.
