<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a show-of-hand detector and a show-of-hand detection system using the same, with which the show-of-hand of a student to a question can be automatically checked, when checking such show-of-hand and thus labor is not required in actuating a multimedia teaching material and a lesson is carried out to project the video thereof in a real time, on an electronic white board or personal computer, and lesson efficiency is eventually markedly improved and in addition, only very low equipment cost is required and the detector and the system using the same are economically advantageous and further are suitable for practical uses. <P>SOLUTION: The show-of-hand detector 1 which can automatically detect the salute as a means for checking the student's answer to the question in lesson is arm-worn type equipment, to be worn on an arm 10 of a carrying person (the student or the like) and has a sensor signal input device 2, an evaluation value calculator 3, and short-distance radio equipment 4.
