PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a countermeasure means against a residual quantity detection error (detection delay) at an ink tank of a system in which the atmosphere is taken into ink from the outside by the gas liquid exchange action or the like along with the ink feeding action and which has a sensor (optical reflector or the like) set in a storage chamber where the ink is directly stored, and detects an ink residual quantity by using the same. SOLUTION: A sectioning wall 17 as a partition-like structure is arranged in the ink storage chamber 6. The sectioning wall 17 is positioned so that one face of the sectioning wall 17 is directed to a communication part 9 from which the gas is introduced.
