PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument and a method which detects easily a TDM frame of a TDM mobile communications system, and to improve receiving reliability of a control channel. SOLUTION: In a time division multiplex (TDM) mobile communications system, a frame is received through a forward direction control channel. A periodic redundancy inspection is performed to a received frame, and a first error detecting bit is outputted. A received power of the received frame is measured. When decoding a channel of the received frame, a first path metric is calculated. After presuming a second path metric using the first path metric and the received power, threshold predetermined as the second path metric is compared, and the second error detection bit is outputted. A frame quality bit for detecting the validity of the frame is formed and outputted, based on the first and the second error detection bits. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
