The invention relates to a bonnet arrangement for vehicles. Said arrangement comprises a bonnet (11) that is pivotably mounted by means of at least one single-articulation hinge (13) and can be transferred from a normal position to a raised protective position by means of an actuator. The actuator (35) and the single-articulation hinge (13) are interconnected by means of a lever mechanism (21). The actuator (35) is staggered in relation to the hinge (13) in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and comprises a controlling element (37) that can pull out or retract and is coupled to the lever mechanism (21). The inventive bonnet arrangement is characterised in that the trajectory (39) of the hinge (13) and the direction of displacement of the controlling element (37) extend essentially parallel to each other.
