<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving force control device for a vehicle having less energy losses when the vehicle starts in a four-wheel drive state. <P>SOLUTION: An output of an engine 2 is transmitted to right and left front wheels 1L, 1R and also to a generator 7. Generated voltage of the generator 7 is supplied to a motor 4, and right and left rear wheels 3L, 3R are driven with an output of the motor 4. Target motor torque in starting of the vehicle in a four-wheel drive mode is set with a small characteristic value as a prescribed value.
