PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sinusoidally drive a motor without a sensor and efficiently operate the motor.

SOLUTION: AC power 1 is converted into DC power by a rectifying circuit 2. The motor 4 is driven by an inverter circuit 3. An output current from the inverter circuit 3 is detected by a current detecting means 5. The motor is sinusoidally driven by a control means 6 without the sensor. Phases of the output voltage and the output current from the inverter circuit 3 or a setting value of a reactive current are changed by a phase estimating means for estimating the phases of a motor induced voltage and a motor current.
