<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector in which sufficient cooling of an optical device is ensured without hampering the miniaturization of the projector. <P>SOLUTION: The projector includes: an optical device having an optical modulation device for forming an optical image by modulating a luminous flux from a light source in accordance with image information; and a fan for guiding cooling air from outside. The projector is provided with: a duct 500 designed such that openings 511R, 511G and 511B on one side are disposed opposite to the fan, openings 512R, 512G and 512B on the other side face the optical modulation device and, thereby, the cooling air guided in by the fan is guided to the optical modulation device; and a heat radiating member 55 made of a heat conductive material, which is disposed near the openings 512R, 512G and 512B on the other side of the duct 500 so as to correspond to the arrangement of the optical modulation device, and is connected to the optical device so that heat can be conducted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
