PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain interconnectivity between communication apparatuses even if communication between a DHCP server and another communication apparatus is disabled.

SOLUTION: There are provided a first address setting section for acquiring a network address from an address allocation device which allocates a network address to an apparatus connected to a communication network, and setting the acquired network address as its own network address; a communication disability detection section for detecting that communication with the address allocation device is disabled; a communication disability message transmission section for transmitting, to another communication apparatus connected to the communication network, a communication disability message indicating that the communication with the address allocation device is disabled, when the communication with the address allocation device is disabled; and a second address setting section for determining a network address to be given to itself and setting it as its own network address when the communication with the address allocation device is disabled.
