PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus arranged with a high speed and high accuracy AD converter in each column while confining in a compact circuit scale. SOLUTION: In an imaging apparatus arranged with sensing elements 101 in matrix and arranged with an AD converter for each column of sensing element, the AD converter holds an electric signal corresponding to a signal of the sensing element becoming an analog signal in a storage section 110. Subsequently, the storage section is charged or discharged by a first fixed signal being inputted later, and the time elapsed before the electric signal at the storage section 110 reaches a reference signal after charge or discharge start time is measured discretely. Thereafter, the storage section is charged or discharged by a second fixed signal being inputted later and the time elapsed before the electric signal exceeded the reference signal at the storage section 110 after measurement reaches the reference signal is measure discretely as a digital value.
