PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely edit two kinds of encoded video files which are created from same video information and recorded, with the same contents without trouble. SOLUTION: Input video information 100 is subjected to two kinds of encoding processing in an encoding section 10, and encoded video files 101A, 101B are generated and recorded in a recording section 11. When the editing instruction 104 of desired video information is inputted, it is converted into an editing instruction 105 by a user I/F section 14 and supplied to editing sections 15A, 15B. In accordance with the editing instruction 105, the encoded video files 102A, 102B generated from the same video information 100 are read from the recording section 11, the encoded video file 102A is edited in the editing section 15A and the encoded video file 102B is edited in the editing section 15B, respectively. The edited video files 108A, 108B by the editing processing are supplied to the recording section 11, respectively and rewritten to the corresponding encoded video files before edition.
