PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce differences of phosphor efficiency and discharge characteristics different among discharge cells of respective hues to equalize a luminance balance and thereby to improve color purity and discharge efficiency. SOLUTION: This plasma display panel is so structured that substrates 10 and 20 are arranged oppositely to each other by having barrier ribs 16 for partitioning spaces between them so as to form the discharge cells 18 in areas where address electrodes 12 formed extendedly in one direction on the substrate 10 and display electrodes 21 and 23 formed extendedly in one direction on the second substrate 20 intersect with each other; in each auxiliary pixel 28 having a phosphor layer formed in an area including the barrier ribs 16 in the discharge cell 18, the width at both ends in the direction for extending the address electrodes has a first width w1; the width at a center part of the auxiliary pixel having at least one hue out of red, green and blue auxiliary pixels arranged adjacently to each other in one direction and constituting hue-variable pixels has a second width w2 smaller than the first width; and the width at a center part of the auxiliary pixel having another hue has a third width w3 larger then the first width.
