PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic book apparatus which has the convenience to a user improved by causing the user to reasonably terminate reading in a proper sectioned position of an electronic book within a limited time when reading the electronic book within the limited time. SOLUTION: The electronic book apparatus is provided with; a scheduled reading period specifying part 105 for specifying a scheduled reading period; a speed calculation part 103 for calculating a reading speed; a constitution analysis part 113 for detecting sectioned positions where the constitution of an electronic book 102a is sectioned; a number of page calculation part 112 for deriving a limit reading position of the electronic book 102a, where the user can finish reading within the scheduled reading period, on the basis of the reading speed; and a sectioned position determination part 114 for presenting the divided position just before the limit reading position calculated by the number of page calculation part 112, out of sectioned positions detected by the constitution analysis part 113, as the most suitable end position.
