PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission type optical modulator element for enabling high contrast by attaining high speed deflection and drive at a low voltage, miniaturizing an element and lessening stray light and unnecessary light, and to provide a transmission type optical modulation array element. SOLUTION: The transmission type optical modulator element 100 is provided with a minute transparent optical member 33 for emitting to deflect light in a different direction to an incident direction of incident light L1, a support means for supporting the minute transparent optical member 33 at a hollow position so that a light emission face to a face orthogonal to an advance path direction of the incident light L1 can be inclined, and a drive means for changing the light emission direction from the minute transparent optical member 33 by inclining and displacing the minute transparent optical member 33 by electromechanical operation.
