PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve miniaturization, reduction of cost, improvement in fail-safe property of a resolver as a system, by providing an abnormality detection part and a self-diagnosis circuit into an R/D converter. SOLUTION: In the method for detecting the abnormality of the R/D (resolver/digital) converter, the method is for detecting the abnormality of at least the resolver (1) itself, cable wiring (2) for connecting the resolver (1) with the R/D converter (3), and the R/D converter (3) itself, by the abnormality detection part (4) provided to the R/D converter (3).
