PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical care hollow-fiber membrane-type blood purification apparatus for treating chronic renal failure, which has excellent safety and module assembly performances and high water permeability. SOLUTION: A hollow-fiber membrane of a hydrophobic polymer comprising a hydrophilic polymer has a membrane thickness of 10-50μm, the aperture ratio of the outer surface of 8-25%, an uneven thickness of 0.6% or more, an amount of elution of 10 ppm or less from the hollow-fiber membrane of the hydrophilic polymer, an abundance ratio of 25-50 mass% in the outer surface of the hollow-fiber membrane of the hydrophilic polymer, a burst pressure of 0.5 MPa or more, and a compact layer in the blood-contacting surface, and comprises an aggregation of agglomerated particles with the compact layer of 20-200 nm in diameter. The high water-permeable hollow-fiber membrane-type blood purification apparatus has a coefficient of water permeability of 150 ml/m<SP>2</SP>/hr/mmHg or more. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
