PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic composition preventing stains, ephelides, dullness or skin roughening, imparting tenseness and moistness to skin and affording beautiful skin. SOLUTION: This cosmetic composition is characterized as comprising a black sugar extract and a soybean extract. A phenyl glucose compound is preferably contained in the black sugar extract. One or more species of soybean saponins selected from the group consisting of saponins having soyasapogenol A as a skeleton, saponins having soyasapogenol B as the skeleton, saponins having soyasapogenol C as the skeleton, saponins having soyasapogenol D as the skeleton and saponins having soyasapogenol E as the skeleton are contained in the soybean extract.
