<p>The device is for the application of encompassing belts on wound coils of metal belts and comprises a flexible ring plate in the area of the closure clamp of an encompassing belt locatable on the coil. Via the ring plate, the encompassing belt is guided at a distance from the coil. The ring plate (1) is of plastic and rises up to a height of at least 10mm.
