<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup unit small in size, simple in structure and capable of obtaining a high quality image. <P>SOLUTION: The image pickup unit has a translucent member 1, a holding member 5 which holds the translucent member 1 and a photoelectric transducer 16 which conducts photoelectric conversion of the light beams passed through the translucent member 1.
