<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology suitable to shorten the depth of an image display apparatus while obtaining an image of high image quality. <P>SOLUTION: On the image forming source side of a fresnel lens sheet (6), a total reflecting prism part (10) is arranged in a range where the incident angle of a projection image projected from an optical component on the fresnel lens sheet becomes≥about 40°, further, on the image viewing side of the fresnel lens sheet, a refraction type prism part (11) is arranged in a range including an area facing an area where the total reflecting prism part is not arranged. The refraction type prism part (11) includes a refraction surface (e) for refracting the incident light and emitting the light toward the image viewing side, a plane (f) nearly parallel to the principle plane of the fresnel lens sheet and a connection plane (g) for continuously forming the planes (e) and (f). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
